“Son, I fought death to bring you into this world,” she said. “I gave up sleep, food, and comfort for your health.” How are you going to pay me back?”
She told her son, “I’ll get a good job, make a lot of money, and take care of you.” But his mother’s answer was a surprise.

The son suggested that he marry a religious woman and take care of her. Again, his mother told him, “You should get married for the company, not just to take care of me.” “Your wife works for you, not me.”

“Come see me often and call me often. These little things make me happy while I’m still living. Giving me a proper funeral and praying for me in your prayers when I die. Do good things and help others in my name. Your kindness will help me in the next life.
The son was so upset that he couldn’t speak. He understood with a nod as tears ran down his face.
