Tragedy Strikes Ogden Canyon: Community Mourns Loss of CEO and Daughter

A devastating accident in Ogden Canyon, Utah, has left the community reeling in shock and grief. Richard David Hendrickson, CEO and president of Lifetime Products, and his 16-year-old daughter Sally, tragically lost their lives in a collision involving a bulldozer.

On Saturday, July 6, a tow truck carrying a mini bulldozer collided with their GMC pickup on Highway 39, resulting in the bulldozer crashing onto their vehicle. Richard, 57, and Sally succumbed to their injuries at the scene, while two other passengers sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Colleagues and friends remember Richard as a visionary leader and beloved figure, whose remarkable journey from welder to CEO inspires awe. Utah Governor Spencer Cox and Lifetime Products founder Barry Mower have extended their heartfelt condolences, acknowledging Richard’s exceptional leadership and friendship.

The tragic incident has sparked concerns about safety on Highway 39, prompting a petition advocating for vehicle restrictions on the narrow passageway. With over 1,700 signatures, the petition seeks measures to enhance safety and prevent future tragedies.
