A blind date ends in a costly disaster

An unconventional plan by a woman to see how generous her date would be went horribly wrong, leaving both of them in shock.

Miss Zhang set up a blind date for Mr. Lui at a restaurant in Zhejiang province in eastern China. But what Mr. Lui thought would be a quiet dinner for two turned into a crazy get-together of 24 people.

Mr. Lui didn’t know that Miss Zhang had asked her whole extended family to join them to see how willing he was to take care of and provide for her family.

As the night went on, Mr. Lui became too busy to pay for the whole group. He left the restaurant quickly because he felt trapped, leaving Miss Zhang and her family to handle the situation.

The dinner bill was a huge 20,000 yuan, which is about $3,100. Miss Zhang was now responsible for paying it. She went to court against Mr. Lui to try to get some of the money back.

In the end, the court said Mr. Lui only had to pay 1,400 yuan, which is a very small part of the total amount. This expensive mess is a lesson in how dangerous it is to make complicated plans in partnerships.

Even though Miss Zhang meant well when she tried to test Mr. Lui’s character, it went horribly wrong. The event shows how important being honest and direct when talking to others is for making ties that matter.

Instead of using dramatic tests, couples should work on making their interactions open and real. In the end, Miss Zhang had a big bill and an embarrassing story to tell, but Mr. Lui didn’t have to pay for much of it.

This terrible blind date is a good lesson that being honest and talking to each other are important in relationships, and that complicated plans can backfire in a big way.
