My world fell apart when I heard the terrible news that my grandfather, Alvin, had died of a heart attack.
He’s not just my grandfather; he’s also my rock, my friend, and my favourite person. As I rushed to his side, I was glad to hear that the surgery went well. He would need to rest, get care, and not be stressed out while he heals.
After two months, I chose to take my mum to see Grandpa. “YOU ARE A DIRTY PIG!” was written in a mean way on his dirty car when we got to his apartment complex.
It made me sick. EITHER CLEAN UP YOUR CAR OR LEAVE THE AREA. “SHAME, SHAME, SHAME!” The perpetrator’s boldness made me very angry.
Still determined to find out who did it, I looked at the security video and saw that it was Briana from 4C, who is known for making trouble. The guard said that she had been whining about small things like Grandpa’s newspaper and welcome mat for months.
When I talked to Briana, she wasn’t sorry and was rude. I came up with a plan to teach her a lesson when I realised that talking to her would not help. I made a sign with a screenshot of the security video showing that she was abused and put it in the lift so that everyone could see it.
In just a few days, everyone in the town turned against Briana and ignored her. The law was followed. When I went to see Grandpa again, he told me the news, but he didn’t know that I was the one who made the sign.
This taught me that sometimes you have to be brave to stand up to bullies. You can’t talk sense into someone like Briana who doesn’t respect other people. I would risk everything to keep my grandfather safe and let him live in peace.
What do you think? Would you have done something different or taken things into your own hands?
