Mike, my husband of eight years, brought home his pregnant lover and told me to leave our home. That was the end of my marriage. But I wasn’t going to give up without a fight.
I turned my shock into action by planning a clever way to get back at them. First, I closed our joint bank account, which left Mike and his new partner, Jessica, without any money.
After that, I changed the locks to make sure they couldn’t get in. When Mike realized he had done something wrong, he had the cutest look on his face.
The main event, however, was still to come. There will be a surprise party to celebrate Mike’s new life. I invited his family, friends, and coworkers. I also paid for a sign that said, “Congratulations on Dumping Me for Your Pregnant Mistress, Mike!”
As Mike’s world fell apart, I felt strong. I turned off the utilities, canceled the cable, and put all of our shared assets in my name. I put the house on the market and emphasized the “bonus front lawn art installation.”
When Jessica found out about Mike’s new life, she broke up with him. The last time I heard, Mike was having a hard time making ends meet and was away from his family and friends.
On the other hand, I did very well. I got a cat named Karma, sold my house, and started my own business.
I learned a very important lesson on my journey: don’t just move on when life hurts you. Get back in charge, and make the people who hurt you pay for it.
