Being kind to a police officer can really boost their mood in a world where they are constantly being criticised and treated badly. Four police officers from Slidell, Louisiana, had that happen to them recently at their neighbourhood Outback Steakhouse.
Manager Arline Wood and server Zoe have grown to enjoy the officers’ frequent visits, so they decided to give them a free meal as a surprise. As soon as the officers were done with their dinner, Zoe gave them a receipt with a note of thanks for their service and loyalty.
The cops were moved by the kindness and gave a big tip to show their thanks. That was not the end of the story, though. People in the community were so grateful and impressed that they posted a picture of the ticket on the Slidell PD Facebook page.
Arline and Zoe’s kind act shows how little things can mean a lot to the people who guard and serve us. Even though police have to deal with a lot of problems, their kindness shows them that their work is valued and admired.
This touching story makes us want to show our appreciation to the people who make a difference in our lives, like Arline and Zoe did. By helping others, we can start a chain reaction of kindness and optimism that fights negativity and builds community.
