The spoilt mum took my cafe seat—she got angry when I told her what was wrong.

I had a great start to my morning at the cosy café because I got a job offer to share with my best friend Megan. But things went horribly wrong when my bossy mother told me I had to give up my place. When she was rude, I retaliated calmly and with a smart line that shocked everyone in the café.

While I was waiting for Megan, a woman who felt spoilt and entitled stomped in and told me to clear the table for her and her kids. Even though she was getting more angry, I stayed strong and wouldn’t give in. Things got worse until Uncle Tony, the owner of the café, stepped in and stopped the woman from being mean.

The woman finally left, and I was able to tell Megan the good news. Standing up for myself made me feel strong. The event reminded me that you have to stand your ground against bullies and acting like you deserve better.

A Moment of Victory

I felt excited and thankful for Uncle Tony’s help and the support of the café community after the meeting. It was a moment of victory for everyone who has ever been through something like that. I learnt that speaking up for yourself doesn’t have to be mean; it can be calm, firm, and sure of itself.

As I laughed and told Megan the story, I knew this moment would stay with me as a lesson of how important it is to stand up for others and myself when they act entitled or mean.
