Ace Patton Ashford, 18, was a skilled young roper who died on August 12. He will be missed by everyone in the rodeo community. While helping a sick cow near Chilton, Texas, Ashford was killed in a freak accident. His leg got stuck, and a scared horse dragged him, hitting him in the head and killing him.
Ashford was almost ready to start college at Hill College. He was only a few weeks away from following his dreams. He spent a huge amount of time practicing his rope skills, which showed how much he loved it. People who knew him said he liked being outside, rodeoing, and hanging out with friends.
Ace was liked by everyone in his community because he had a kind heart and a personality that spread happiness. Sydney Boatright, his lover, shared her deep sadness by saying, “I love you forever, Ace Patton.” Many people who loved him are missing him since he died too soon. Ace will live on in the memories of the people who knew him and how he changed their lives.
