Whoopi Goldberg has had enough of critics who want “The View” silenced.
The outspoken cohost addressed the show’s detractors, particularly those who accuse it of pushing a one-sided agenda. Goldberg pushed back, stressing that the show’s purpose is to foster discussion, not conformity.
“People think they know what I believe, but they don’t,” she said. “And that’s fine—because the point isn’t to agree. It’s to listen.”
Her comments followed a fiery debate about Governor Gavin Newsom and transgender athletes, a topic that often divides audiences. Goldberg defended the panel’s right to disagree, even when things get heated—like the recent clash between Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin.
“People say, ‘Take this show off the air,’ but what they really mean is, ‘I don’t like being challenged,’” Goldberg said. “Well, tough. That’s how growth happens.”
Despite the backlash, Goldberg remains proud of the show’s legacy: a place where women can speak their minds, even when it’s uncomfortable.
