A devastating plane crash has claimed the lives of seven members of the renowned Nelon family, a staple in American gospel music. The tragic accident occurred on Friday while the family was en route to Alaska to join the Gaither Homecoming Cruise.

The ill-fated plane, a Pilatus PC-12/47E, was carrying Jason and Kelly Nelon Clark, their daughter Amber Nelon Kistler, and five others, including two Grammy-nominated family members. A heart-wrenching video taken just before the crash shows the group laughing and joking on a Nebraska runway.

The plane crashed in Wyoming, sparking a massive forest fire. Emergency responders rushed to the scene, but unfortunately, no one survived. Autumn Nelon Streetman, a member of the family and Season 4 of The Nelons, was not on board.

In a statement, Autumn expressed gratitude for the outpouring of prayers and support, saying, “Your love and support will help us navigate the difficult days ahead.”

The National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the accident. The Nelons, inducted into the Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame in 2016, leave behind a legacy of inspiring music, including hits like “I Shall Not Be Moved” and “We Shall Wear a Robe and Crown.” Their contributions to gospel music will be deeply missed.
