My husband gave me a shower gel for my birthday. I was really offended, even though I didn’t show it. We weren’t having money problems, so I couldn’t understand why he would choose such a simple gift. I even checked our finances to make sure everything was okay. He could have at least gotten me flowers.
When I looked at the shower gel, I realized it was a fragrance I disliked. Feeling upset, I ended up crying and poured the gel down the toilet. It felt like he hadn’t put any effort into the gift.
Later, my husband came home and asked, “Did you find it?” I was confused. He explained that he had hidden a ring inside the bottle cap as a surprise. Unfortunately, I had already thrown the gel away, and he had to retrieve the ring from the toilet.
It was a birthday surprise that didn’t go as planned, but it’s a story we’ll always laugh about.
