The figure skating community is grieving the loss of Everly and Alydia Livingston, two young sisters who perished in a plane crash in Washington, D.C., along with their parents, Peter and Donna. The family was returning home from the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Wichita, Kansas, when the accident occurred.

Everly, 14, and Alydia, 11, were talented skaters with bright futures ahead of them. Alydia was known for her energetic personality and love for ice dancing, while Everly was a quiet yet powerful competitor who had already made a name for herself in sectional competitions. Their parents were their biggest supporters, often traveling across the country to ensure the girls could pursue their dreams.

Friends of the family, like Cassandra Atkins, who designed their skating costumes, remember the Livingstons as a loving and close-knit family. “Donna was always so proud of her girls,” Cassandra shared. “She would send me updates and photos all the time. They were her world.”

The crash, which also involved an Army Black Hawk helicopter, has left the skating community in shock. Tributes have poured in from around the world, with many remembering the sisters’ talent and their parents’ dedication. As the investigation into the crash continues, the skating world is coming together to honor the memory of the Livingston family and all those lost in this tragic event.
