A 104-year-old man’s simple birthday wish turned into a global party with thousands of messages and well-wishes from all over the world. It was a touching act of kindness and connection.

A guy named Mills asked on Twitter for 104 birthday messages for his father, Gerald, who was turning 104 on July 12. That was the start of it all. “Any chance I can get 104 happy birthdays from Twitter?” Mills posted along with a picture of his dad. It will amaze and puzzle him at the same time.

There was a huge reaction. The tweet spread very quickly, and Gerald got a lot more birthday wishes than 104. People from all over the world, including grandparents who are very old and young children, liked the tweet and shared photos and stories of their own loved ones.

Someone sent Gerald a birthday message and a picture of their daughter, who was born 12 weeks early. Someone else showed a picture of their grandma, who is 101 years old and has the same birthday as Gerald.

Also, English comic and actor Stephen Fry wrote “Happy birthday Gerald! xx” to wish him a happy birthday.

As a result of the easy tweet, many people shared pictures and stories of their loved ones and wished Gerald a happy birthday. It was even talked about on the radio; a host from 94.5 KHI in Ocean City, MD shared a video of those talks.

A lot of people showed love and kindness, which shows that social media can bring people together and make a difference in someone’s life. Someone wrote on Twitter, “This is the Twitter we need.” “Love, kindness, and having a party for life.”
