A simple but brilliant way to calm down a tense mood

A worried husband went to the doctor to get help on how to deal with his wife’s violent mood swings. The man told the doctor that his wife’s daily temper tantrums were making him feel nervous and like he didn’t know what to do. The doctor listened carefully.

The doctor’s answer was strange and interesting. He told the husband that whenever his wife got mad, he should drink a glass of water and swish it around in his mouth. The catch was that he couldn’t drink the water until his wife left the room or cooled down.

After two weeks, the husband went back to the doctor and looked much better. He was thrilled to say that the doctor’s advice had made all the difference. By moving the water around in his mouth, he was able to calm his wife down and stop things from getting worse.

The husband asked the doctor to explain how the water was having such a strong effect because he was interested in the science behind this strange method. It was easy and clever of the doctor to tell him that the water itself didn’t matter; it was his decision to keep his mouth shut that did.
