Love and determination brought them back together.

In every ad Kaylee put up, her lost daughter Amanda’s face stared back at her. It broke her heart. Kaylee wouldn’t give up, even though it had been two agonising weeks with no news. As she walked by her neighbour Angela’s garage sale, she reluctantly stopped, trying to take her mind off of things.

Kaylee was looking around when she saw Amanda’s jacket, which made her heart stop. Angela told Kaylee that she got it from a thrift shop, so she drove there right away. The owner had a hazy memory of Amanda selling the jacket for bus fare, but she couldn’t remember much more.

Kaylee went to the bus stop and asked workers and other riders if they had seen Amanda. No one had. She sat on a bench and clutched the jacket, feeling sad. She found an address on a piece of paper inside. It took her to the house of Amanda’s real mother.

The woman said Amanda had been there, but she said Amanda had already left. Kaylee left and kept looking for her parents, her heart broken. She saw a girl on the porch of an empty house while driving through the rain. She saw it was Amanda as she ran towards her.

As they said sorry to each other, they hugged and started crying. She said she would never leave again, and Kaylee promised she would always be there for her. They were happy to have found each other again and went home together.
