The Love of a Father No Matter What

I never thought I’d forgive my dad for leaving me when I was 18. Life, on the other hand, often shocks us.

I felt a lot of different things when I opened the door and saw him standing there. I told him he had to pay rent even though he wanted to stay with me. The same demand he made years ago, which made us not get along.

Julie, my wife, told me to forgive him, but I didn’t want to. How could he just leave me like a lost dog? “Do you know your father’s side of the story?” Julie asked, and her words stuck with me.

After a few days, I saw my dad sleeping on a bench. He broke down in tears when I got close to him. His words, “I wanted to motivate you,” “I invested in my business for you.”

His words made me feel different. I saw that my dad did what he did out of love, not spite. I forgive him, and we got back together.

We walked home together, and I told her the news: she was going to be a mum. “You’ll be a grandfather!” I screamed.

He whispered, “I love you, son,” with tears of joy running down his face. “I love you always.” That’s when our relationship got better, and our family started over.
