Our pride and joy, Jason, seemed meant to do great things. We gave him money for college, but he had other plans that we didn’t know about. Because he loved animals so much, he built a veterinary centre with the help of our unknowing donations.
I found out Jason’s secret when I went to visit without telling him. The front desk didn’t have any records of him. I found a rusty caravan with the help of a GPS tracker. Jason and his veterinary uncle Tom were turning it into a clinic.
When I talked to Jason, I felt lied to. He talked about his goals and how Uncle Tom helped him. My mailbox was full of letters from pet owners who were thankful for Jason’s help.
One night when I couldn’t sleep, I looked online and found Jason’s Veterinary Clinic. In pictures, he was seen happy with his family and pets. When I went there, Tom’s words stuck out: “You tried to stop this, but look around.”
I was amazed by Jason’s self-assurance and kindness. I said, “I was wrong,” with tears running down my face. “This is your calling.” “I’m happy.”
He said, “I won’t stop being this person.” “We were right the whole time,” Uncle Tom said with a smile. With peace in my heart, I followed Jason’s true way.
