The beautiful redhead Ann-Margret gave up her job for love in the 1960s. For 50 years, she put taking care of her sick husband Roger Smith first.
Ann-Margret was born in Sweden and has always loved acting. When her family moved to Illinois, she got better at what she did. George Burns found her and helped her start her career in Hollywood.
But reviewers put her in a certain mould because of how she looked.
She looked into European projects in order to grow as an artist. Roger Smith, who would become her husband, became her boss and helped change how people saw her. The projects they worked on together did well, like “Carnal Knowledge.”
Smith’s health problems put their love to the test. Ann-Margret gave her whole life to caring for him and put his health ahead of her job. “If one spouse has a broken wing, the other takes over,” she stated.
Ann-Margret kept playing after Smith died in 2017 because Alan Arkin asked her to join “The Kominsky Method.” Smith’s children and grandkids are still close to her.
Ann-Margret’s heritage lives on as a sign of beauty and strength. “I carry his spirit with me,” she said. “Our love story never ends.”
