Andrew, a businessman who is 50 years old, had always put his work ahead of everything else. He was always meeting people, making deals, and making money. But everything changed when he was told he had cancer, which was terrible news.
He felt lost and alone. As he walked through the hospital, he came across a sick boy named Tommy.
Andrew was drawn to Tommy’s contagious laughter and unwavering positivity. At first, he didn’t want to be friends with Tommy, but they ended up becoming close. Andy wanted to help Tommy’s mum, Sara, who was having a hard time making ends meet.
As Andrew got better, Tommy was always there to comfort and cheer him up. They laughed, talked, and looked around the hospital for hours. Andrew changed the way he looked at things when he started to see things through Tommy’s eyes.
But disaster struck just as Andrew was beginning to feel hopeful again. Tommy’s health got worse, and even though the doctors tried their best, he died peacefully with his family by his side.
It broke Andrew’s heart, but he knew he had to remember Tommy. Dedicated to helping sick kids, he set up a fund in their honour. He also kept in touch with Sara and helped and supported her.
When Andrew thought back on his trip, he realised that Tommy had taught him what life was all about. It wasn’t about money, power, or fame; it was about being kind, caring, and connecting with other people. Andrew was thankful that his meeting with Tommy had changed him for good.
