After taking a DNA test for fun, Billy’s life was turned upside down when he got the results. He had never known he had a brother named Daniel until the test showed it to him. Billy’s whole world was turned upside down as he tried to understand what this meant.
As Billy dug deeper into the truth, he found out that his parents had been hiding a terrible secret from him. They took him in after his real parents died in a fire, but they never told him about his brother or who he really was.
Because Billy wanted to know what was going on, he met Daniel. When they sat down together, Billy couldn’t believe how much they looked alike. Daniel talked about memories from their youth, but Billy couldn’t remember these things. Billy didn’t start to understand what was going on until Daniel talked about the fire that destroyed their childhood house.
In his quest to find out what happened in his past, Billy looked through his father’s office and found papers that supported Daniel’s story. It was found in the papers that Billy’s adoptive parents set the fire that killed his biological parents and then adopted him to escape being sued.
The news was too much for Billy to handle. When he told his parents the truth, they couldn’t deny it. While Billy was hurt and angry, he packed his bags and left the only home he had ever known.
Billy found comfort in his brother Daniel, who took him into his home as he got used to his new life. They began to fix their relationship and make new memories with each other. It dawned on Billy that the terrible things that had happened to him in the past had brought him closer to his brother, and he was thankful for that.
