A Slip-Up in the Snow: How the Weather Stood Up a Covert Cannabis Plan

Strange things were seen in a small Dutch town, and people were so scared that they called the cops. Even though there was a lot of snow in the area, one house stood out because its roof was clear of snow. The big difference between this roof and the snow-covered roofs of the houses next door made people suspicious.

It turned out that the neighbors were right; the cops soon found a successful cannabis growing operation inside the house. The operation’s heat kept snow from building up on the roof, which would have accidentally revealed the secret plan.

This is not the only event like this. Dutch police have been catching a lot of people who grow cannabis because their roofs don’t have snow on them. The cold weather has turned out to be a surprising ally in the fight against illegal cannabis businesses.

The Netherlands is known for being open to people using marijuana for personal reasons, but the law only lets people grow up to five weed plants at a time. After years of running a large-scale cannabis cultivation business out of the house, the owner could now spend years in jail.
