The holidays are a time to spend with family and friends and eat a lot. Things were about to change for Kira and Michael, her new husband. Thanksgiving would be a day they would never forget. For weeks, Margaret and Rebecca, their moms, had been getting more and more angry with each other. Things were about to get worse.
Margaret and Rebecca were making plans for Thanksgiving dinner when it all began. You couldn’t make the two women agree on how to make the food. They each had their own ideas. It was clear that they didn’t get along, and Kira and Michael were stuck in the middle.
The competition between Margaret and Rebecca grew stronger as the dinner date got closer. They started playing a number of pranks that got worse and worse, trying to beat each other. Pots and pans clanged and the air was thick with tension as the kitchen turned into a battlefield.
However, just when things looked like they could not get worse, Kira gave birth. In the chaos that followed, the fight between Margaret and Rebecca was forgotten. They had to put aside their differences and work together to get to the hospital in time for their daughter and granddaughter.
In the hospital room, Margaret and Rebecca were finally able to get along because they both loved their daughter and granddaughter. Seeing the baby for the first time made them realise that life was about more than just arguing.
She turned to Rebecca as they left the hospital and said, “You know, I think we’ve been stupid.” We neglected what was important because of our rivalry. Both Rebecca and the other woman smiled warmly as they agreed.
Margaret and Rebecca promised to put their differences aside and work together from that day on. They were sorry for being mean and selfish in their competition, and they were determined to do better next time.
Finally, Kira and Michael were happy that their moms were getting along again. They were ready to work together to make things better in their family, even though they knew it wouldn’t always be easy.
Kira and Michael had this idea of a Thanksgiving dinner that was very different from what it turned out to be. They would never forget that day, though, because it brought their family closer together and helped them remember what was important.
