Bindi Irwin, 24, an Australian wildlife advocate, recently talked about how hard it is for her to deal with endometriosis, a disease in which cells that look like uterine cells grow outside the uterus. Bindi shared her story on Instagram on March 7 to bring attention to it and help other people.
Bindi wrote next to a picture of herself in a hospital bed, “I hesitated to share this publicly, but I feel responsible to help other women seeking answers.” Ten years ago, her journey began with an unknown pain.
After many tests, doctor visits, and scans, the real problem was found.
Some doctors at first didn’t believe Bindi’s symptoms, which made her angry.
But she kept trying to get an answer. She’s now on the road to healing and wants to thank everyone who prayed for her and gave her support.
Endometriosis affects the tissue in the pelvis and can hurt the ovaries, fallopian tubes, bladder, and gut. People are moved by Bindi’s bravery to speak out and get help.
This person’s story shows how important it is to keep going and speak up for yourself when you are having health problems.
