A Grave Desecrated, A Broken Truth

Emma went to the grave of her late husband Owen every Sunday to find comfort in the quiet time they spent together. But three months ago, an unknown person who threw eggs interrupted her peaceful practice.

She first thought it was a mean joke. But when she caught the bad guy, her whole world fell apart. Madison, her sister, called.

The things Madison did were scarier than the damage itself. Emma wanted answers, but Madison’s news shocked her: she had been having an affair with Owen for five years.

Emma’s thoughts about her husband were clouded. She remembered his strange work trips and calls that were kept quiet. Madison’s words hurt Emma deeply and made her question everything.

Emma’s niece Carly then put new light on the matter. Madison felt bad for Emma because her life looked like it was going so well. Carly denied having an affair and said Madison made up the story.

Emma felt her mind spin. Had she lied, Madison? She wouldn’t know. But she wouldn’t let her anger ruin the memories she had of Owen that she loved.

Emma was determined, so she went back to Owen’s grave and put fresh flowers on it. The calm that came from the stillness washed away months of trouble. She whispered, “You won’t take him away from me.” Her love made her feel better.
