A simple marriage turns into a love story that changes people’s lives.

I was 34 years old and sick of my parents always bugging me about being single. Their persistence had hit a new level when they told me I had to get married by age 35 or lose my inheritance. I protested in the strangest way because I felt like I was suffocating.

I met a homeless woman called Jessica as I walked down the street. Even though she seemed rough, her kind eyes caught my attention. I made up a deal on the spot: marry me and act like you’re my wife in exchange for a place to live, food, and clothes. We got married after she said yes.

But I had no idea that something big was going to happen in my life. I went back home a month after our wedding and saw a beautiful change. The house was spotless and smelled like a home-cooked meal. Jessica had grown into a strong, beautiful lady.

As we ate together, Jessica told me about her life, her problems, and her hopes. I was shocked to find out that the person I married wasn’t just a front. The journal she gave me, which was full of her hopes and thoughts, touched my heart.

I knew then that Jessica wasn’t someone who needed to be “saved,” but someone who needed love and care. “I never needed to be saved; I just needed someone to care,” she said. Such powerful words.

I had a new view of myself and our marriage that night. I realised that my first reasons were based on fear and a desire to be liked. Jessica, on the other hand, brought love and light into my life and changed me.

The next day, I told my parents the truth: our marriage was no longer just a convenience; it was a real link. Jessica was the one person who really made me feel good, and I wouldn’t trade her for anything.

Our marriage, which began out of spite, turned into a beautiful love story that changed our lives. Jessica had shown me that love can change even the most sceptical hearts and that sometimes the best things in life come from places you least expect them to.
