Debra’s life was an example of how strong people can be. Her young spirit was tempered by years of suffering. At 52, she had the scars of years of hard work because she had been financially supporting her family since her husband Austin lost his job twenty years before.
What started out as short-term help turned into a constant duty, and Austin became more and more distant. His days were a blur of TV and social activities, and his body changed to match how tired he was. People didn’t care about Debra’s tiring routine, and they didn’t appreciate the adjustments she made.
When they got married, they were both young and full of hope. They promised to work together and help each other. When Debra married Austin when she was only 19, she dreamed of a future where everyone worked together. The coming of their daughter Kayla only made her resolve stronger.
But fate had other ideas. Kayla’s own marriage fell apart, leaving her to raise a child by herself. As usual, Debra jumped in and helped her daughter by giving her money. This added to the weight of what she already had to carry.
Even though Debra’s life was complicated, her love for him never wavered. Even though she was tired, she kept going because she loved and was committed to him. Her story showed how strong a mother’s love can be even when things get hard.
