Trump Wins a Record-Setting Number of Battleground States

In the 2024 presidential election, Donald Trump made history by winning all seven important swing states. These states were Arizona, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Nevada ². He got 312 Electoral College votes, which is more than the 270 ± needed for a clear win. A big change happened when Trump won because he took over key states that had backed Joe Biden in 2020.

Polls taken before the election showed that the race was very close. On average, Trump was ahead of Kamala Harris by 2.8 points ±. In Arizona, more money was spent on election ads than in 2020. Democrats spent $308 million more than Republicans, who spent $147 million. On the other hand, Trump won, getting Arizona’s 11 electoral votes.

On X (formerly Twitter), Vice President-elect J.D. Vance thanked his family, friends, and Trump, and he promised to fight for all Americans. ². In his victory speech, Trump said that God saved his life so that America could be great again ². He thanked his supporters and promised to make them happy after winning the election.

For the fourth term in a row, Republicans and Democrats have taken turns running the White House. Trump’s victory is a big deal. It’s been a long time since this pattern has been seen. With Trump’s win, Republicans have taken back control of the Senate, which is a change.

Right after the election, President-elect Trump is going to meet with President-elect Biden in the Oval Office ². Trump’s main goal as he gets ready to take office is still to make America great again. Trump has become a much stronger political force in the United States by winning a record number of key states.
