In the past few years, Simon Cowell has been through a lot. Two different bicycle accidents changed his life forever.
Simon talked about these events in an open way on the Today Show, where he was on with Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, and Terry Crews.
The famous 63-year-old broke his arm and got a concussion in 2022 when he fell off his e-bike in London. This happened after he had a similar accident in Malibu in 2020.
“I wasn’t in the best shape before, so these events were a wake-up call,” Simon said of his experiences. He understood that his love for riding would never fade.
Even though things have gone wrong, Simon is still excited about riding. “I’m not giving up on my bike,” he said.
After the second accident, Simon had to wear a wrist brace for months and make big changes to his life to help his nine-year-old son Eric.
Lauren Silverman, Simon’s fiancĂ©e, pushed him to put family and health first. In an interview with The Sun, he said that he was thinking about going to therapy.
Simon remembered how sweet Eric was when he saw how hurt he was: “Dad, you look like Iron Man.” Metal bars and screws now hold Simon’s back together.
He’s learned to laugh off problems, and on America’s Got Talent, he even joked about his injuries.
Simon’s unwavering drive continues to inspire people all over the world.
Even though there are problems, Simon keeps enjoying life and riding with a smile on his face.
