When a Neighbor’s Offer Turns Into an Awkward Moment

Share

After her shower, a woman heard the doorbell ring. Her husband was about to hop in, so she quickly wrapped herself in a towel and answered the door.

It was Bob, their neighbor, and he wasted no time making an offer: “$800 if you drop the towel.”

The woman hesitated only briefly. That was a lot of money for something so simple. She did as he asked, took the cash, and closed the door.

When she returned to her husband, he asked, “Who was at the door?”

“Bob,” she replied.

“Great,” he said. “Did he give you the $800 he’s been owing me?”

Her stomach twisted. The money wasn’t just a random offer—it was repayment for a loan. She had just accepted cash meant for her husband, all because she hadn’t asked a single question.

The lesson? Always find out the details before agreeing to anything—or you might end up red-faced!
