From the pavement to soul mate: how a chance meeting can change your life

Roger Landers had grown used to seeing homeless people outside his office because he was a successful businessman. But the beautiful smile of one woman broke his heart, and he became obsessed with finding out her story.

Roger made up stories about her life while he watched her from a distance. He finally got up the nerve to talk to her. He asked her, “Hi, would you like a cup of coffee?” She said yes.

Roger learnt about Emma’s sad story over coffee. She ran away from Idaho with a cute boyfriend who disappeared in Los Angeles, leaving her broke and ashamed. Roger bought her new clothes and a bus ticket home because he wanted to help.

As Emma left, Roger felt a strange sense of loss. After two days, he drove to Preston, Idaho, to make sure she was safe. When Roger found her at her mom’s laundromat, they looked at each other and knew they had a deep bond.

Emma and Roger went back to Los Angeles, and their love grew. They got married soon after, and Emma joined a group that helps runaways find their way back home.

Their chance meeting changed both of their lives, showing that love can happen anywhere. Roger’s kindness gave Emma hope again, and his heart was stolen by her smile. They made a new path together, one of love, forgiveness, and second chances.
