A Mom Who Couldn’t Sleep’s Revenge: A Halloween Story of Pride and Jokes

Genevieve’s life was a blur when she had twin babies and was very tired. She wasn’t thinking about Halloween at all, especially after seeing how much fun her friend Brad was having.

Brad’s annual show was famous, but he was so cocky it was ridiculous. He egged Genevieve’s car because she parked it in front of his house, saying it was in the way of his work.

Genevieve approached Brad, feeling angry and worn out. She was shocked by his cocky answer. But she didn’t make things worse; instead, she chose a better way to handle it.

Genevieve came up with a plan after seeing Brad’s pride. She suggested “upgrading” his show with cheap fog machines and ghost projectors, even though she knew they would not work.

When Halloween night came around, Brad’s show was great, until it wasn’t. The water sprayed from the fog machine, the ghost projector flickered, and his inflatables fell apart.

Brad’s pride dropped as people laughed and young boys egged his house. He said sorry the next morning, feeling bad about what he had done.

But before she said yes, Genevieve said, “Funny how things balance out.” Once calling himself the “Halloween King,” Brad had finally met his match in a mom’s sneaky way of getting back at him for not getting enough sleep.
