People in Shelby Daniele’s 23-year-old community are still shocked and sad about her sudden death. This amazing athlete has left a lasting legacy that goes far beyond her record-breaking achievements.
Daniele’s kindness, academic success, and athletic ability inspired a lot of people at Cal Poly and Buchanan High. A lot of honours and condolences have been sent her way since her untimely death.

Cal Poly Track and Field paid tribute to Daniele’s life on Instagram by talking about her five years of service, her academic achievements, and her role as team leader. Some people said, “Shelby was truly one of a kind.”
Buchanan High School honoured Daniele’s win at the 2019 California State Meet and how she helped other students through hard times. Brian Weaver, her coach, said she was “everything you want in a young athlete”: friendly, supportive, and committed.
A remembrance with candles drew a lot of people to Veteran’s remembrance Stadium, where Daniele used to amaze crowds. The girl’s sister asked everyone in the neighbourhood to join in enjoying Shelby’s effect on everyone.
As sad posts about Daniele’s death spread on social media, a moving picture of her personality emerges: a leader, friend, and role model. We will miss her love of farming and taking care of the earth.
Daniele did well in school and earned a degree and a master’s in agriculture from Cal Poly. Future generations will be inspired by her desire to change the world through eco-friendly actions.
