When Danny, my husband, told me he was going to consider divorce if I didn’t have a sixth child, a son, I knew I had to do something. I chose to show him what it’s like to be the only parent of our five girls. I left him in charge for two days, and things went crazy!
Surveillance cams let me see how hard it was for Danny to handle work, the house, and our kids’ needs. The first morning was a mess: toast that was burned, juice that was spilt, and a stressed-out dad. The kids wouldn’t listen, and he was stressed out. I couldn’t help but laugh at how crazy things were.
Things got worse all day. Danny tried to help the kids with their online school work, but they were busy. He forgot to let his boss know he wasn’t at work and got a call.
The house was a mess, and lunch was a spread of different snacks. The last straw was when it was time for bed. The girls wouldn’t go to sleep and kept asking for stories and sneaking out of their rooms.
After the second day, Danny was about to lose it. He begged me to forgive him and help him in desperate texts. It was time for me to go back home. Danny was happy when I walked in. He said sorry and promised to spend more time with his family.
Daniel kept his promise after that. He got more active by doing things like helping with homework, going to school events, and even learning how to braid hair.
Our lives got better and were full of happiness and laughter. Danny saw that loving our family more than having a son was the most important thing. We were stronger and more in love than ever when we found our happily ever after.
