Revenge at its finest: a walk to remember

Share

I had a terrible time planning my wedding, even though it should have been a magical experience. A coworker sent me a picture of Mark, my fiancé, getting cosy with his ex at a spa location. How will I respond? A walk that would show him what kind of person he really is and test his limits.

When the news came, I was busy making plans for our dream wedding. Someone quiet at work, Claire, sent me a picture of Mark at a fancy spa with his ex-girlfriend Amanda. Even though I was getting angry, I didn’t act without thinking. Instead, I waited for Mark to come back and showed him the proof.

Mark tried to play down what was going on, but I could tell he was lying. He agreed to go on a walk with me because he thought it would save our relationship. He had no idea that I had a plan.

Mark had a hard time keeping up with the group on the hard walk. I tried to be supportive, but my real goal was to show him what he was really like. We made it to the top after eight hours of climbing, and I told them, “That’s it! We’re done!”

Mark was shocked, but I already knew what I was going to do. I left him at the top of the mountain without our car keys or a way to call us. He had to call his ex to help him, which was a good way to end our relationship.

When I looked back, I saw that one picture had changed the way I saw my life. Getting out of a bad relationship gave me a new sense of freedom. Now I’m focussing on myself, trying new things, and living life without a boyfriend who cheats on me.

Ladies, what would you have done if you were me?
