People are mad about the sign on the door, and the restaurant says, “Too bad for you, we won’t take it down!”

A KFC in Gallipolis, Ohio, has done a nice thing to show their respect for the men and women in blue who work hard. A sign on the front door of the restaurant says that all uniformed police officers can get free food every day, all year.

This nice act is meant to show appreciation for the hard work that police officers put into keeping our communities safe and legal. People have different responses to the sign. Some like the idea, while others wonder why only police officers are getting this special treatment.

But the way a police officer responded to the criticism perfectly captured the spirit of the act. They made it clear that police officers don’t expect special treatment, but they do enjoy being recognised for their hard work in protecting and serving the public.

A lot of people really liked what KFC did, and it’s a good lesson that little acts of kindness can show how much we appreciate those who serve and protect us. We hope that more places find ways to honour the hard work of our police officers like this one.
