Supporting Her Right to Run: Imane Khelif’s Dad Speaks Out

Boxer Imane Khelif of Algeria is being criticised for going to the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Her father, Amar Khelif, has now spoken out. He was very proud of his daughter and said, “Imane is a champion, and having her as my daughter is an honour.”

Angela Carini, Khelif’s opponent, pulled out of their match because she was in “severe pain” in her nose.

This started the argument. This sudden elimination made Khelif the clear winner, but the fact that she was kicked out of the 2023 world championships for having too much testosterone in her body has raised questions about her fitness.

Amar Khelif showed an official paper that confirmed the gender of his daughter and stressed that it was real. “This document doesn’t lie,” he said in response to rumours that Imane was involved.

Since then, Carini has said sorry and respected the IOC’s choice to let Khelif participate. Imane, on the other hand, has warned that bullying players is very bad for their mental health and wants it to stop.

Through it all, Khelif stays focused on her Olympic goals, helped by the fact that her father always backs her up and the fact that she is very strong. They are fighting for her right to play and against the status quo as a team.
