“The Fight for My Son’s College Fund”

Share

I was devastated when I found out that my ex-husband was using half of our son’s college fund to pay for his stepdaughter’s education. That money was supposed to be for our son’s future, a fund we had worked so hard to build together. But when I confronted him, he coldly replied, “I earned that money, not you!” His words were crushing, but I wasn’t about to let this go. I called my lawyer immediately to take action.

What we uncovered next was shocking. It turned out that his wife and stepdaughter had been lying to him the entire time. The stepdaughter had actually earned a full scholarship and wasn’t using any of the money for her education. Instead, his wife had been secretly siphoning funds into a separate account, taking thousands of dollars from him over the years.

When my ex confronted her, she finally admitted the truth. She had been planning to leave him for some time and had even met someone new. The money she had been stealing wasn’t for her daughter’s education—it was for her own escape plan. Now, they’re in the middle of a messy divorce, and my ex is left to pick up the pieces.

While part of me feels a sense of justice knowing the truth, I’m still heartbroken. That money was meant to give our son a chance at a better future, and now it’s been jeopardized. I’m fighting to make things right, but the emotional weight of this situation is overwhelming. My son’s future is what matters most, and I won’t stop until I’ve done everything I can to protect it.
