A Family’s Passion Remembered: The Livingston Sisters and Their Parents

The figure skating community is mourning the tragic loss of Everly, 14, and Alydia, 11, Livingston, along with their parents, Peter and Donna, in a plane crash near Washington, D.C. The family was returning home after the girls competed in the U.S. Figure Skating Championships when their flight collided with an Army Black Hawk helicopter.

Everly and Alydia were more than just talented skaters—they were beloved members of the skating world. Everly, a sectional champion, was known for her quiet demeanor off the ice and her captivating performances on it. Alydia, the youngest skater on the plane, was celebrated for her vibrant personality and relentless drive to improve.

Their parents, Peter and Donna, were their biggest cheerleaders. Donna, a Central Pennsylvania native, was described as the “perfect mom” who dedicated her life to her daughters’ skating careers. Peter, a real estate agent, was known for his unwavering support and love of filming the girls’ performances. Together, they created a life centered around their daughters’ passion for figure skating.

Family friend Cassandra Atkins, who designed the girls’ skating outfits, shared heartfelt memories of the family. “Donna was just like the most perfect mom,” she said. “Those girls were her entire world.” Cassandra recalled how the sisters’ love for skating was infectious, with their vibrant personalities shining through in every performance.

The tragedy has left the skating community in mourning. Tributes have poured in from friends, coaches, and fellow skaters, all remembering the Livingston family for their kindness, dedication, and love for the sport.
