Prince Harry’s Response to Trump’s Harsh Words About Meghan Markle

Prince Harry’s recent appearance at the Invictus Games has drawn attention for what many believe to be a subtle yet pointed response to Donald Trump’s latest criticism of Meghan Markle. Without directly addressing the former president, Harry’s speech seemed to hint at his thoughts on the situation.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the Invictus Games in Vancouver, a sporting event Harry launched in 2014 to give injured veterans a chance to compete. This year’s event saw 500 athletes participate over nine days. While the games celebrated resilience and determination, one moment in particular stood out—Harry’s speech, which some believe carried an indirect message aimed at Trump.

Trump was recently asked if he would consider deporting Harry back to the UK, following allegations from The Heritage Foundation that Harry may have lied on his visa application about past drug use. The foundation called for his immigration records to be made public after Harry admitted in his 2023 memoir Spare that he had used substances like cocaine, cannabis, and psychedelic mushrooms. However, when asked about deportation, Trump brushed off the idea, saying that he had no interest in sending Harry back.

During an interview with the New York Post, Trump went further, saying, “I’ll leave him alone. He already has a few issues to deal with with his wife. She is a bad person.” This blunt remark sparked reactions, as it was seen as a direct attack on Meghan.

At the Invictus Games, Harry’s speech seemed to be a carefully worded response. Speaking to the audience in Vancouver, he said, “At this moment, when there is no shortage of crises, no absence of uncertainty, and no lack of weak moral character in the world, the values you embody… your bravery, your resiliency, and your humanity illuminate a path forward for all of us.” His reference to “weak moral character” stood out, leading some to believe that it was an indirect criticism of Trump’s recent comments.

Trump has had a history of commenting on Meghan. In 2019, he described her as “nice” but also said she had been “nasty” about him in the past. He later clarified that he was referring to her words and not her personality. However, with his latest statement labeling her as “bad,” it appears his opinion remains unchanged. The ongoing back-and-forth between Trump and the Sussexes continues to capture public attention, with Harry opting for a response that is both dignified and measured.
