Finding the Truth About Robin Williams’s Last Days

Robin Williams died in a terrible accident more than seven years ago, breaking the hearts of fans all over the world. At first, sadness and drug abuse were thought to be to blame, but his wife, Susan Schneider Williams, tells a different story.

Robin played famous parts in films like “Good Morning Vietnam,” “Mrs Doubtfire,” and “Aladdin.” Off-camera, his funny personality made people happy.

Robin was married three times and had three kids. He split up with Valeria Velardi after their first marriage in 1988. Soon after, he got married to Marsha Garces. They had two kids together, Zelda and Cody. The marriage in this case also ended in divorce.

Robin got married to Susan Schneider in 2011. Twelve hundred people came to their small wedding at the Meadowood resort in Napa Valley.

Robin was having a hard time with her health getting worse and forgetting things behind closed doors. It was hard to film Night at the Museum 3.

Susan said, “Robin knew he was crazy and was acting crazy.”

Even though things were hard, their love stayed strong. Susan remembers happy times even when things were bad.

Susan told the truth in her first interview after Robin’s death. Robin passed away from Lewy body dementia. Depression was only a small part of his problems; worry took over.

Doctors said Robin’s case was one of the worst they had ever seen. Lewy body dementia gets worse over time and ends in death.

Susan felt better after learning about Robin’s illness. “I finally had a name for the monster we’d been chasing.”

Robin died on August 11, 2014. Susan remembers the last time they talked.

Robin planned brain tests a week ago. He gave Susan a foot rub the night before.

Their last words were “Good night, my love.” Robin’s ashes were spread out over San Francisco Bay, which was his happy place.

His memory goes on and reminds us how important it is to be kind and patient.
