In Indiana, a shelter dog named Major has been waiting for a forever home for over 260 days. Despite his initial happy and hopeful demeanor, the constant rejection has taken a toll on his spirit.
Major, a 4-year-old terrier/pitbull mix, was abandoned by his original owners and has been living in the Humane Society for Hamilton County shelter since last summer.
Initially, Major was a “sweet and sensitive” dog, full of life and love for play. However, as the days turned into months, his bright personality began to dim.
The shelter staff describes him as a “true companion with a big heart” who loves his Jolly Ball, but his endless crying has become a concern.
To alleviate his stress, the shelter has moved Major to the visiting room, but they know that finding him a real home is the only solution.
Major would thrive in a family without young children or cats, and a meet-and-greet with other dogs is recommended to ensure compatibility.
His adoption page reads, “If you’re ready to welcome a loving, strong, and playful friend into your life, Major is the one for you!” If you’re in the area and interested in adopting Major, please fill out an application and visit the Humane Society of Hamilton County for a meeting.
Let’s help Major find his forever home and restore his spirit. Share this story to spread the word about this beautiful dog!
