When Nancy’s landlord, Mr. Peterson, told her and her three girls they had to leave their rental home for a week, her whole world turned upside down. He needed a place for his brother to stay because he was coming to town.
The news was terrible for her. She had to move her daughters across town to a crowded hostel because she didn’t have any savings and didn’t have any family close.
But fate had other ideas. Nancy met Mr. Peterson’s brother Jack when she went back to the house to get her youngest daughter’s favourite toy bunny. Nancy and her children were kicked out of their home, which shocked Jack. He offered to help right away.
Jack listened with both sympathy and anger as Nancy told him her story. He knew right away that his brother had taken advantage of Nancy’s weakness, so he decided to do something about it himself.
The girls and Nancy were able to move back into their old house with Jack’s help. Jack even talked his brother into paying their rent for the next six months. Jack became like a guardian angel to Nancy and her girls as they got back into their normal routine. Jack had saved them from a very bad situation.
Jack’s giving and kindness grew into something more over time. He started going to see Nancy and her daughters more often, helping with jobs around the house and even teaching the girls new things. It became clear to Nancy that Jack was not only a good person, but also someone who really cared about her and her girls.
As the months went by, Nancy and Jack’s friendship turned into love. Jack asked Nancy to marry him one night as they watched the sun go down from the porch. She said yes because she was so moved.
In the following month, Jack and Nancy got married, and he helped her find a lovely new home for herself and the girls. As Nancy and Jack got used to their new life together, she realised that Jack was more than just her husband. He was also a true hero who had saved her and her girls from a life of trouble and uncertainty.
