What one woman thought would be a happy celebration of love and commitment turned into a terrible nightmare. They were busy planning their small wedding eight months after her fiancé proposed. They were sure that their love was strong enough to get through anything.

But two days before the wedding, the woman’s fiancé told her something shocked everyone. He wanted his father to check her hymen in front of his male cousins to make sure she was still a virgin. The woman was shocked and thought it was a cruel joke. She was shocked when her fiancé told her he was serious and mentioned a strange family custom.

The woman felt torn between her love for her fiancé and her anger at the rude and unwanted request. She went to a friend’s house to get away from things and try to figure out what was going on. She got the courage to talk to her fiancé about it the next morning and made it clear that she wouldn’t go through with such a humiliating test.

But instead of being understood and helped, the woman was pushed around and hurt. The talk got rude when her fiancé said she lied about being a virgin. Surprisingly, he even hit her for sticking her ground.

The woman was crushed when she found out that the man she loved was not who she thought he was. She called off the wedding and broke up with the guy, which started a long, hard process of rebuilding.

The woman’s story is a harsh warning that love doesn’t always mean that you’ll be respected and understood. Which brings up a scary question: What would you do in the same situation?
