I’ll never forget the day I sent my boyfriend Mike a bunch of roses at work as a surprise. I thought it would be nice to make his day better in this way. But I had no idea that my kind act would start a chain of events that would change our relationship for good.
I didn’t think Mike would respond the way he did to the roses. He wasn’t moved by the act; instead, he felt bad about it and threw the roses in my face. He did something that shocked me, and it hurt my feelings. But I knew I had to talk to him to make things right.
Later that day, we met at a restaurant, and Mike told me he was sorry for what he did. It turns out he was just stressed at work and didn’t mean to take it out on me. I let him off the hook, and we hugged it out. What happened next, though, caught me by surprise.
Mike got down on his knees and took the ring out of his pocket. He asked her, “Will you marry me?” His eyes were full of love. I was crying tears of happiness down my face because I was so moved. “Yes,” I said in a whisper, eagerly nodding.
The whole restaurant cheered, and we spent the rest of the night enjoying the happiness of our proposal. We promised to surprise each other more and talk to each other more openly. Since then, our friendship has been stronger than ever.
It turned out that Mike’s boss knew about the proposal. He was so pleased with how dedicated Mike was to our relationship that he gave him a raise. Our happiness knew no bounds, and we knew this was just the start of a whole new journey together.
Now that I think about it, the big event with the roses was a turning point in our relationship. It made us want to start over and told us how important love, respect, and appreciation are. Do not be afraid to take a risk if you feel like the romance is going away. There’s no telling what will happen next.
