Going to Disney World with Christine Tagle’s family was meant to be a magical adventure, but it quickly turned into a scary ordeal. Ernesto, Christine’s five-year-old son, passed out 20 seconds into the Guardians of the Galaxy ride. Christine finished the ride in a fear because she had no idea what was wrong with her son.
Ernesto’s heart had stopped beating during the ride, Christine told the Walt Disney World Tips and Tricks Facebook group in her scary story. She talked about how she pulled him off the ride while yelling for help and how the staff led her to a hallway where she started CPR. After a short time, someone used a defibrillator to shock Ernesto’s heart back into beating.
Christine was thankful that the trained Disney workers had helped save her son’s life. Another person she thanked was a nurse and an EMT who helped with CPR and kept Ernesto stable until the paramedics came. Christine told everyone that they should think about getting CPR training because it can make a huge difference in scary situations like this one.
Christine made a sincere plea to find the couple who helped them after telling their story. With the help of the Disney community on Facebook, she was able to get back in touch with them. Christine also told them what was going on with Ernesto’s health and said that the sudden medical emergency was caused by a genetic heart problem.
Ernesto’s dad wrote an Instagram post to let his family and friends know how his son is doing. He wrote that Ernesto is doing well after surgery and that there are no signs of damage to his heart or brain. He also sent out a message telling people how important it is to get CPR trained.
