Brother of Dolly Parton, David Parton, died on November 15 at his home in Tennessee, surrounded by family and friends. He was 82 years old. Stella, Dolly’s sister, posted about the news on social media.
David, whom people loved calling “sweet David,” was a caring and kind man. He worked well as a bridge-building supervisor after being in the U.S. Marine Corps.
David’s wife Kay, daughters Donna and Dena, grandkids, great-grandchildren, and siblings Dolly and Stella are the ones who will miss him. A service for the family will be held at Leadvale Baptist Church.
David’s death is another terrible loss for the Parton family. They had already lost their parents Robert and Avie Lee, their brothers Larry, Floyd, and Randy, and David’s baby son Donnie.
Randy died in 2021, and Dolly would always remember him for his faith and ability. People loved Floyd for his work in music and his love of nature. He died in 2018.
In their statement, David’s family thanked the carers and hospital staff who helped him in his last days. During this hard time, they find comfort in their faith and in memories they hold dear.
